Today – Thursday 1st September – marks the start of Sepsis Awareness Month 2022!
It is the first Sepsis Awareness Month since the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which makes it especially important in terms of conveying the crucial key messages about sepsis and the signs and symptoms to look out for.
This Sepsis Awareness Month is also an important first for Sepsis Research FEAT as the charity launches the first ever sepsis awareness ad on UK TV. The ad is an integral part of our brand new sepsis awareness campaign in partnership with the Scottish Government.
Scottish national awareness campaigns ran in 2018 and 2019 but this is the first since the pandemic and by far the largest to date. You can read more and see the ad on our National Campaigns page .
The campaign will also run throughout September and into October across radio, posters, billboards and social media.
September also sees the launch of the charity’s first ever podcast series. Across 8 episodes released during September, the podcasts will feature the compelling stories of 11 people whose lives have been affected by sepsis. Our hope is that podcasting will prove to be a powerful new way to share these sepsis stories and raise awareness even more widely – of sepsis, the symptoms to look out for and when to seek urgent medical attention.
Go to our dedicated Words of Sepsis podcast page to tune in, subscribe and share the podcasts, and help us in our mission to save lives today and fund research for tomorrow.
