A massive thank you to two new supporters, both of whom have experienced the tragic loss of loved ones to sepsis.
At the end of May Adam Liddle and Lea Haney both organised events in memory of their respective family members and helped to raise over £10,000 for Sepsis Research – a phenomenal total.
Adam Liddle lost his 39-year-old wife Emma (pictured above left) to sepsis very suddenly in March 2020. Emma was mum to their two small boys and a teacher and social campaigner. At a terrific live music event at the Biscuit Factory in Leith on the last Friday of May, attended by 200 people, Adam, his friends and family remembered Emma and helped to raise over £5,000 for Sepsis Research FEAT. Adam’s JustGiving page is still open at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/adam-liddle1
That same weekend in Stirling, Lea Haney (pictured right with Sepsis Research FEAT’s Gill Thomson) remembered her sister Elaine who sadly lost her life to sepsis in 2021, aged just 37. With an outdoor event at The Kilted Kangaroo pub, Lia raised the terrific sum of £3,635 on the day, since topped up to £4000.
Huge thanks to both Adam and Lea for choosing to support Sepsis Research FEAT in this way – helping to ensure that others in the future do not suffer the terrible losses that they have. We are so grateful to you both.
